Measuring in at 12.3″ this bar provides an exceptional seal width for a small unit. The retort bar is for sealing heavy mil pouches such as mylar and retort bags.  Equipped with a 3.5mm heat strip, capable of providing the additional heat and pressure needed for these applications. The heat strip residing in the core of the assembly has a concave that sets this assembly apart from it’s counterpart. COMMON USES:

•Seal off mylar pouches

•Seal retort canning pouches

•Close coffee bags

SEAL & COOLING TIME:

7 mil Mylar Bag – SEAL TIME – 2.4 seconds | COOLING TIME – 5.0 seconds
Retort Pouch SEAL TIME – 2.8 seconds | COOLING TIME – 6.0 seconds

4 METHODS TO ENSURE SEAL INTEGRITY:

1 – MOUTH FOLD

Fold over the pouch mouth leaving about a 2-4 inch clearance. This will prevent moist products from leaving behind residue or debris in the seal area.

2 – PREVENT WRINKLES

Lay pouch flat across seal bar assembly inserting the mouth entirely into the bag clips. If you are working with a low profile product in your pouch, then be certain to fill the void below the product with filler plates.

3 – INSPECT WELD

The seal should have a perfectly continuous crosshatch pattern across the entire mouth of the package. Small blemishes are typically not of concern. Simply use the resistance test to check the strength in that potentially compromised area.

4 – RESISTANCE TEST

Simply tug at the mouth of the pouch to ensure complete adhesion has taken place. If you are unable to rip apart, you have performed a solid weld/seal.

I can’t stop using it.

I wanted a Chamber Vacuum Sealer for some time. I researched the options and JVR VAC100 seemed like the right size and functions. JVR Inc. Had multiple five star reviews. I made the leap. I got the machine. It was well packaged. I unpacked it and got to setting the machine up. I DID NOT forget to put the oil in it. Many U-tube videos and the packaging itself were helpful reminders to do this. I could not get the machine to seal. I called and spoke to Gene who sent me to Peter. They were both extremely patient with me. Turns out the issue was my own. I had thrown out the cushion for the sealer. Peter helped me resolve this issue expediently. It is great to have the service and attention behind the sale even for those of use that make mistakes. Now I am sealing everything. Thank you for all of the help.

Love to hear all is working well on your end now John! Great news indeed! If you need help with anything else, please feel free to call us during business hours.

Great mylar seal bar

The bar works as it should. I sure don't miss the clothes iron and 2x4 method, that's for sure. I just wish there was a way to visually identify the bar to discern it from the regular bar while its in the chamber, as I didn't realize I had the wrong bar installed until it burned through several of the plastic bags I was sealing. I thought I had set too long of a seal setting, but then realized I hadn't changed the bar out from when I was sealing mylar bags. The two bars are practically identically until you look at the end and compare the size of the strip in the middle. Maybe a color coding system or something would be nice. Other than that, I love being able to use the Vac100 to vacuum and seal the mylar bags.

Glad to hear your unit and retort bar is above satisfactory! This is a great thought for certain. It is something we have considered. The main issue is sourcing 100 of 1000s of different colored bag clips would be very pricey. There is an indicator on the base of the retort bar assembly stating 'RETORT' as I am sure you have seen. Another solution we can provide you is use white out or some type of marker to dab on the top of your bag clips. This way you have the indicator to know which bar is which. Please feel free to call if you have any further questions! Hope you found this helpful.
