Silicone Seal Rubbers provide shock absorption to the seal bar assembly when it engages to the lid area. This helps provide appropriate pressure for optimal seal integrity. After long term use, the seal rubber will wear to the point of no longer providing enough cushion to seal off your chamber vacuum pouches.
