“Practically anyone can find vacuum canisters useful – even if you do not own a vacuum sealer!”
Pack lunches on the go, vacuum seal leftovers, keep delicate food safe, and more with the VacLok stainless steel vacuum canisters! Compatible with our Vac100 chamber vacuum sealer, these heavy-duty canisters create a whole new world of options for your everyday culinary responsibilities. Let’s find out how.

About the Stainless Steel Canisters (VacLok)
Canisters are an innovative vacuum packer accessory. They are like storage containers that can be vacuum-sealed to keep your food fresh longer. Unlike vacuum bags, vacuum canisters give you the option to be hand-washed and reused for items you use repeatedly. Additionally, resealing is easy for items you use often, but want to keep fresh.

Use a chamber vacuum sealer or a handheld pump to vacuum seal these based on your convenience. The hand pump provides a transportable, on-the-go option. Additionally, our VacLok canisters are equipped with a handy dandy dial to set the date you vacuum-sealed the food so you know exactly when those leftovers were placed in the fridge.
Typical Uses for Vacuum Canisters
Practically anyone can find vacuum canisters useful – even if you do not own a vacuum sealer!
Pantry Items: Store coffee beans/grounds, flour, rice, snacks like nuts, or dried fruit, and additional dry goods. Vacuum canisters prevent you from having to purchase extra thick bags for dry items with sharper edges like rice.
Refrigerator Items: Vacuum seal leftovers, soups, sauces, jams, vegetables, fruits, etc. The canisters are especially useful when it comes to delicate items like berries and soft cheeses as you can still apply a vacuum to sustain freshness without crushing them as might happen in a vacuum pouch!
Mason Jars: You can potentially fit a small mason jar into the 1.3 L canister, but using the Chamber Accessory (3-Gallon) is recommended as it will withstand a full vacuum draw ensuring full lid seal integrity.

Compatibility with VacSeries Chamber Sealers
Our Vac100 chamber vacuum sealer is equipped with an accessory port to accommodate the canisters and provide versatility in your kitchen. While this is the case, you can also simply just use the hand pump – keep it in your kitchen drawer to grab and use quickly. Take it on your camping trips, for work lunches, or pack the leftovers of your contribution to Thanksgiving dinner!
Sealing Your Vacuum Canisters
Using the Chamber Vacuum Sealer
Maximum recommended vacuum cycle times are as follows:
0.7 Liter – 5.0 Seconds
1.0 Liter – 6.0 Seconds
1.3 Liters – 7.0 Seconds
Seal and Cool cycles can be set at 0 seconds.
Selecting a vacuum cycle time may be different depending on the food. Vacuum sealing a full canister of rice, for example, might require less time as it already takes up most of the space within the canister. Alternatively, a handful of berries will likely require the maximum vacuum draw – you get the idea!
Steps To Vacuum Seal
- Dial your canister with the month/day of the year to the diamond on the lid. It helps to use both hands to turn the dial.
- Power on the unit.
- Select “Pump” on the Vac100 control overlay.
- Attach one end of the vacuum hose to the accessory port.
- Attach the opposing end to the canister lid.
- The most important vacuum status indication is the vacuum time as you DO NOT want to go over the maximum recommended time.
- Once the desired vacuum is reached, quickly break off the canister end of the vacuum hose for an airtight seal.
- Press STOP on the control overlay.
NOTE: Confirm an airtight seal by verifying that the white vacuum indicator has been pulled down.
Sealing Using the Hand Pump
- Center the hand pump on the lid of the canister.
- Pump the handle until you feel resistance and see the vacuum indicator pull down to know that the lid is sealed.
NOTE: The hand pump is compatible with the 3-piece plastic canister set that JVR Industries used to give away free along with the Vac100. So, if you have any of those lying around, feel free to use the hand pump with these as they are meant for a lighter vacuum.
Releasing the Vacuum
Simply pull up on the blue release valve at the center of the lid and the vacuum will automatically release. The lid should pop right off so you can enjoy your food!
