“Utilize chamber vacuum shrink bags to experience all the benefits of vacuum sealing while enhancing the packaging appearance.”

Standard Duty Vs Extreme Duty chamber vacuum shrink bags | VacNews

Chamber vacuum shrink bags are uniquely formulated as they are meant to enhance your unique packaging experience. Yet, the differences may be difficult to distinguish. Today, we will identify the major similarities and differences between the chamber vacuum shrink bags in our VacShrink line – standard duty and extreme duty chamber vacuum shrink bags.

Utilize chamber vacuum shrink bags to experience all the benefits of vacuum sealing while enhancing the packaging appearance. Create a noteworthy impact on your customers and advertise the quality of your food products with a clear, crisp display.

The process is easy! Simply wrap your product in a BPA-free chamber vacuum shrink bag, vacuum seal it using a chamber vacuum sealer, and then immerse the item into the hot water bath of the DipTank shrink packaging machine. The heat of the water bath causes the bag to shrink which results in extremely clear transparency, providing a premium appearance!

Compatible with all chamber vacuum sealers including our VacSeries line.

NOT compatible with Foodsaver-type external vacuum sealers.

Our Standard Duty chamber vacuum shrink bags are the thinner of the two options with a thickness of 45μm. Accordingly, standard duty shrink bags tend to be applied for packaging boneless meat items or any other items without sharp, protruding edges such as sausage links or chicken breasts. Additionally, this option saves you money due to requiring less material for manufacturing when compared to extreme duty.

Secondly, standard duty chamber vacuum shrink bags provide a 50% or greater shrink rate meaning higher clarity and clearer appearance.

The main difference when comparing standard duty and extreme duty chamber vacuum shrink bags is that extreme duty is twice as thick at 90μm, making it the most puncture resistant option. Extreme duty shrinkable bags are most commonly applied to package items with multiple protruding edges such as T-bone steaks, ribs, and whole chickens. This option provides the same assurance of eliminating leakers that high-resistance pouches or VacGuard offers, therefore resulting in less waste.

Because of the substantial thickness, the extreme duty shrinkable bags tend to have a slightly lower shrink rate at 20%. Although this is the case, extreme duty shrinkable bags still provide exceptional clarity leaving you wondering if there even is a difference!
